Nursery

If I have this baby at the beginning of February, that means we'll only be in the apartment for 4 or 5 months before moving. I don't think we'll really convert the den into a nursery. I think we'll just have the baby in our bedroom. Should we get a crib or just a basinet before we move? What other furniture items are necessities in the beginning? If it's a girl I want bedding, etc. to be light purple and green. When we have a nursery I want to decorate it with fairies. If it's a boy I want to do green. Maybe dragons or frogs. What do you think?

i would just buy a port-a-crib if i were you. and i would put it in your den after the first few weeks. you will sleep better. port-a-cribs (or pack n' plays-- they are called by both names) are nice because most come with bassinet attachments, but will still fit a two year old. we still use one for oliver when we travel. wait until after you have moved to get the real crib. a glider of rocking chair of some sort is nice to have, but you can probably hold off on a changing table until you have more room.

i love your decorating ideas, by the way. when do you find out what you are having?

I love the decor ideas as well. Darling. I think a pack and play with bassinet insert is definitely the way to go also. Although they are not the cutest and don't lend themselves to much bedding, you will use it tons and it is great for travel after you do get a crib.

where do you get the cute pictures? I still feel like Claire has a nursery of sorts- all pink and green and cute. I love to sit or lay in her room and look around. It is peaceful. Mama
