Everafter

I hadn't seen this movie since it came out in the '90s. I just finished rewatching it. My review will be very short.
This movie is an adaptation of the Cinderella story. It has a great script which is pretty much ruined by horrible, fake, bad British accents put on by nearly every actor in the film. Oh, and the story is set in France. Sad. I'd like this to be remade.

I'm so very sappy, I ♥ this movie in spite of the foolish accents! I've watched it a bazillion times! ;)

The one thing I really appreciated about this film, is that she never gives up. She, is compliant, tries to be nice, does everything she cans, works hard, and has fortitude, that is lost in the Disney version of Cinderella.

Sure the characters are over played. The accents, agreed are horrible. And France? WHY the accents, if they are in France? *rolling eyes*-

I completely concur with your assessment of those things, but I really loved, the beautiful, clever way, to weave into the tale, the empowerment, Danielle exhibited.

After I finish watching it, I always feel like I can "do" - what ever is on my plate.

I love this movie as well...but not as much as the extremely cheesy "Cinderella Story"

Emily-

I totally agree with you. I caught it on HBO the other day and thought it was terrible and ridiculously melodramatic. I have never thought Drew Barrymore could act though. :) I am so mean...
